Stem files are tracks split out into four separate elements, typically drums, bassline, melody, and vocal. Since Stem files allow DJs to independently interact with a track’s different musical elements, the creative possibilities for creating instant new mashups, instrumentals, a cappellas, and more are endless. Basically, Stems enable DJs to produce new sounds and music during a live performance. Breath new life into old classics or create instant remixes of the latest floor-filling tunes.
