This Month’s Featured Karaoke Software And Karaoke Cloud Pro User – Russ “DOC” Wristen

Meet Russ Wristen, aka The Party ‘Doc’ DJ in Abilene, Texas, has been in ‘the business’ since 1975, doing radio and playing gigs the old skool way with turntables and 45’s.  In 1993 Doc turned to Karaoke as a means to supplement his DJ Party business and eventually became the Karaoke King of Abilene.  As a multi-op company with multiple licenses, Doc has been successfully using PCDJ Karaoki and Karaoke Cloud services for the last two years. 

 

PCDJ:  Why did you choose PCDJ Karaoki karaoke software for your Karaoke business?

DOC:    I have three PCDJ Karaoki licenses and Karaoke Cloud Pro subscriptions that I use throughout the week.  I chose PCDJ’s Karaoki for several reasons.  Karaoki was easier to use and didn’t have that huge learning curve as compared to a couple of other programs I was looking at, it has the ability to load onto two laptops with an emergency backup if necessary, which in this business is always a plus; I can have multiple background music cases depending on what kind of situation I’m in, whether that be a redneck country bar or one of the more up scale sports bars that I contract for and the customer service from PCDJ is always prompt and friendly. 

          All in all, this karaoke program is one of the easiest to use in the market place.   
 

PCDJ:  What tip would you give to other Pro KJs?

DOC:    I’d advise other KJs that if they want to stand out above the multitude of illegal operators out there that steal their music from the internet, then invest in PCDJ’s Karaoki and Karaoke Cloud Pro then promote the fact that you support live music in all it’s forms and are a legal show.  With this system I play only the music I can get through Karaoke Cloud Pro and the online stores they offer.  People will come up to me and say they’ve got their own music and I tell then flat out, that’s great, but I personally won’t play it.  I don’t know where that music came from and I won’t run the risk of playing something that could have been obtained illegally.   I think that’s what sets US PRO KJs apart from all the rest that want to cash in on this business but not pay the premium that it requires to do it lawfully and right.  I happily pay my monthly premium because it’s the right thing to do.
