A New Public Beta of DEX 3 Pro is Ready for Download and it’s Karaoke-Tastic
You’ve been asking for it.
And we’ve been listening. Here it is, the first public beta of DEX 3 Pro that includes a myriad of new karaoke-specific features that are surely going to have you singing its praises.
And you know what? This is only the beginning. The first in a series of DEX 3 Pro karaoke feature upgrades that will further our goal in making DEX 3 the true all-in-one entertainment software suite for today’s versatile DJ.
DEX 3 Pro has been equipped with the karaoke software basics for some time. But as the karaoke features have slowly grown, culminating in the inclusion of the Party Tyme Karaoke subscription integration, so have the requests for improved karaoke support such as a managed singer rotation, singer history, and more.
As you can see in the list of changes and updates below, DEX 3 version 3.10 is well on it’s way to becoming as robust a karaoke show hosting solution as it is for DJing and video mixing.
The new DEX 3 Pro version 3.10 is a public beta and a release candidate. This means while we’ve tested extensively in-house it still requires a bit more by the masses. You can download the update below and install directly overtop your existing version. If you feel the need to roll back to the prior public release you can find it here on the DEX 3 Pro support page.

What’s New, Changed, and Updated in DEX 3 Pro Version 3.10
- Added Karaoke Singers Rotation list (BETA)
- Rotation list functionality – after 20s of playback, the top singer in the rotation list is moved to the bottom of the list (if it still has any songs left to play/sing)
- You can move, remove, collapse/expand the songs for a singer (click on the number of songs text/arrow)
- You can drop a karaoke track on a singer’s line (and the singer’s name will be automatically pre-selected)
- Singers history using autocomplete for Singer’s name (on macOS press F5 (Fn + F5) or Option-Esc to bring up the autocomplete list); you can clear the remembered singers;
- You can add a track to the rotation by drag & drop, pressing <ENTER> on a track, double-clicking on a track, selecting the “Send to sidelist” menu option (right-click on a track)
- DEX 3 Pro can now read all karaoke zip formats (BETA)
- Added Shuffle option to the Sort menu
- History list now displays the singer that sang the song (singer name is saved to History list)
- Search for all songs by a karaoke singer in DEX 3’s History list by typing “singer:name” or “s:name” (eg. s:joe)
- Fixed cue points (in the mixer area) on the default 2-decks skins
- Several improvements and fixes for drag & drop (eg. you can drop a track in a specific position in the side list)
- Other minor fixes and performance improvements are also included
IMPORTANT NOTES: With your existing version of DEX 3 Pro closed, download and install version 3.10 to update now. Please be sure to test with one of the default (3) nighttime skins as the Daytime skins have not been updated yet. Well I have to tell you that I’ve been using Dex 3 for a couple of years now and I won’t DJ a wedding without it! By far the best mixing program out there. Another reason I bought this program was there were free upgrades , and true to your word, it has been so thus far. Another reason was that I do 75% of my business with karaoke. Unfortunately, your karaoke program was lacking singer history and rotation. Congrats to you for getting this program there. Very ECITEDED with what you’ve done. Two things just briefly checking out your new upgrades… 1. you should incorporate a lyric sync toggle. Something where we can adjust how the lyrics sync with the music. Seems right now, lyrics highlight at least 1 second before they should. @. I’m not able to pull up singer history even after watching your tutorial several times. I’ll keep playing with that one.

Thanks for the feedback! I will check on Lyrics sync/lyrics offset. This is the first if heard of a sync issue. I’ll test some myself. Songs go into history after 20 seconds of playback, so when you click the history list you should see the songs. You will however only see singers names in the default browser view mode.
ok, so when I right click on the history list I get the option for toggle view mode. do it again and its toggle view mode, so I can’t tell which is which. the one with the larger icons shows singer history, the other does not. I’ve got to tell you, you work out theses bugs, you’ll have the n

That is correct. The toggled view mode does not support singers names in either history or the singers list. This is normal behavior…not a bug 🙂
