Over the past year Beats, Rhymes and Relief has traveled around the US hosting free block party style events designed to bring artists and industry to communities in need to inspire positive actions for social good. PCDJ has proudly sponsored the tour and the “Making Beats Count” contest.
In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of positive messaging, community service and mentor-ship – Beats brought together talented producers, emcee’s, graffiti artists, break dancers and DJs to participate in this social good campaign that has influenced thousands of youth across the nation. The “Making Beats Count” contest was a huge success, with D.C., Dallas, New York, Chicago and L.A. all submitting outstanding music videos with positive messages.
VOTING HAS ENDED AND WE HAVE A WINNER: CHICAGO’s “SHINE”
Huge thanks to everyone that took a few moments to watch each cities entry and vote for their favorite! With 61% out of 25,000+ votes, we’d like to congratulate the City of Chicago and their Entry “Shine”! (WATCH WINNING ENTRY BELOW)
As the “Making Beats Count” contest winners the Chicago participants will receive the Making Beats Count “Peoples Choice” Award and each contributing member will be invited to perform the song at our One World Celebrity Benefit Concert in Washington DC. The producer of the winning track also receives this amazing prize from PCDJ, PCDJ DEX 3 DJ software and the American Audio VMS2 DJ Controller.
