In most instances Windows-based computers already come equipped with the video codecs required for Karaoki to play MP4 karaoke video files, but rarely for other video file formats and/or video containers. Third-party media software can also overwrite the pre-loaded video codecs and completely prevent Karaoki from playing karaoke video files in general.
In any case, if you’re experiencing any issues playing video files in Karaoki it’s time to install a video codec pack.
Motion background karaoke video files are becoming more sought after today by some karaoke hosts. The additional on-screen-visuals can assist in creating a more unique and potentially exciting karaoke experience for karaoke singers. Still, many KJs prefer the black and/or blue backgrounds of traditional mp3+G – siting that they are “less distracting for singers”.
For karaoke hosts attempting to play motion background and/or video karaoke files (MP4, AVI, WMV etc)in Karaoki and are running into errors loading the tracks into the karaoke player — K-Lite has a “mega codec pack” that should have you covered!
The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is touted by K-Lite as “The mega variant is the biggest of the four variants of the codec pack” – meaning the free codec download pack includes all the video codecs known to mankind. If the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack doesn’t enable video playback in Karaoki, it may mean the problem is with your files themselves.
Click the button below to visit the K-Lite download website. Use one of the “mirror” download links provided to begin the download and installation of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Once installed, reboot your computer and attempt to play your video karaoke files in Karaoki again.
