Karaoke Software | LYRX 1.6.0.1 Update Available for Download
Version 1.6.0.1 of LYRX karaoke software is available for download.
Last week, we introduced the new 1.6 version LYRX with official macOS Catalina support. 1.6.0.1 addresses a few graphical related issues for both MAC and Windows and fixes a few nagging bugs, including microphone support and a couple issues that could cause LYRX to crash.
We suggest updating to the 1.6.0.1 release now. Simply download from the link below and install with your existing version closed to update (all your settings/data will remain intact).
Again, we appreciate all the assistance and feedback we’ve received from LYRX customers — lots of new (and fun) stuff is on the way!
If you’re new to LYRX, you can also download from the link below and run as a fully-functional free trial.
New, Changed, and Fixed in LYRX v1.6.0.1
- Fixed full-screen issues on Windows (not opening to fit resolution)
- Fixed access to audio inputs in macOS Catalina (eg. for microphone/karaoke)
If you still can’t access any audio from the inputs follow these steps:
– close LYRX
– open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
– paste this command: “tccutil reset Microphone” (without the quotes) and hit Enter
– All microphone access/permissions should be reset now. Open LYRX and try again to access the audio inputs – you should see a prompt showing up asking you Accept or Deny access to the microphone. - Improved automatic crash reporting
- Several bug fixes and performance improvements
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you receive this warning “lyrx-v1.6.0.1-installer_mac.pkg can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. this software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information” when installing to macOS Catalina please follow the steps on Apple’s website to install LYRX.

Lyrx needs a full history button on past singers to be able to bring up all the songs they have sung in the past so the list can be added to singers rotation in full, saving keep looking for they’re songs, as most regulars seem to repeat they’re songs every week. Also the backing list needs a shuffle button.
You can bring up a singers history including key changes already. Just click the “S” button in the search box and type in the name of the singer. This will display all their songs, and you can drag/drop to rotation and it will populate with the singer, song, and key changes (when applicable). There is already underlying capability (stemming from LYRX’s big brother, DEX 3) for shuffle — we’ll see if we can add a button in a future update! Thanks for the feedback!
Hello, I am trying to upgrade from version 1.4 on my Mac Osx High Sierra and I cannot install the 1.6.01 update. I keep getting the “Lryx cannot be installed to this disk” is this version not compatible with high sierra? Where are the other version located?
Thank you!
Hello Phil, due to the major changes to our graphics engine required in order to support macOS Catalina, LYRX will only support macOS 10.14 or higher. You can download the prior 1.5 update that will work on High Sierra from THIS LINK.
Excellent thank you very much!
