For The Love Of Good Music, Don’t Play These Songs At Your Next Wedding Gig

Songs not to play at weddings

Digital Music News recently published an article “Brides are Telling Wedding DJs Not to Play These Songs” and it seems it’s finally time to put the “Chicken Dance” to bed.

According to the report that’s not the only mainstay song that should get the ol’ “shift + delete”.  Quite a few wedding DJs will need to re-arrange their wedding playlists after viewing this list!

“Hickey surveyed 182 wedding playlists submitted between May 31st and June 10th.  He collected the testimonies of over two dozen professional wedding DJs on nearly 200 weddings.”

In my personal opinion this is welcomed news, albeit a couple years late — If I have to play the Cupid Shuffle of do the Hokey Pokey one more time I may melt my laptop.

Of course, there are a few tracks on this list that’ll have to stay put. As much as it’s cliche, “You Shook Me All Night Long” will always have a home in my library.

If you’re a DEX 3 or DEX 3 RE DJ software user and need quality tunes to replace these now-archaic must-play tracks from yesteryear hop on a Pulselocker music subscription for in-app access to 44+ million songs. Like prego, it’s in there!
