DJ DEX has various interface tabs to select from:
Platter Tab: On-screen platters for scratching, performing backspins, or cuing up to the downbeat. Album art will display on the platters if applicable.
Wave Tab: Large waveforms help you better ‘see’ the beat and if your tracks are locked in sync. Fun to grab and scratch!
Effects Tab: X/Y pads allow you to manipulate effects parameters by dragging your finger in any direction.
Loop Tab: Set automatic, always-in-sync loops and lengthen or shorten on the fly.
Cues Tab: Finger drumming at it’s finest. Set cue points and trigger them without latency.

DJ DEX automatically syncs with iTunes so your music and playlists will populate the built-in file browser upon opening the app. Use your existing iTunes playlists or create one on-the-fly for manual or fully automatic mixing (automix). It’s that easy.

DJ DEX has native support for all the DJ controllers supported by DEX 3 Pro, however, the iPad only supports DJ Controllers that are USB class compliant (eg. they don’t require any drivers).
Other notable iPad DJ Controller requirements are:
You must use DJ Controllers that consume very little power (so that the iPad can power them) or have their own power adapter; alternatively, some can be plugged into an USB hub so the hub itself provides them with power (the USB hub is connected to the iPad).
Multichannel Audio Interface Support
DJ DEX supports multi-channel (2 stereo output) audio interfaces. This allows you to preview songs in your headphones (pre-fade listening) before sending the mix live.
Class-compliant DJ controllers that work with DJ DEX and the iPad that are equipped with multi-channel audio interfaces (built in) will be supported. Any other multi-channel audio interface that also works with the iPad will also be supported by DJ DEX (just select the audio interface in DJ DEX’s preferences).
