Harry Thomas of HMT3 Designs has boldly gone where no DJ software skin design has before with his “Star Trek (TNG) LCARS (Library Catalog and Retrieval System)” submission. All kidding aside, this is a robust skin for DEX 3 that features an interesting layout, unlike any previous skin submissions. The buttons are also quite large, making it a good fit for DJs using touch screens with DEX 3.
What the PCDJ team likes about Harry’s LCARS skin is that it displays the power of our DJ software skin designer software with it’s non-conformed look. The skin designer will allow you to map pretty much any interface you can dream up for use with DEX 3 (or RED Mobile 3). In this case, a self-proclaimed Trekker at heart can now feel like he’s behind the LCARS in Star Trek “The Next Generation” instead of behind a traditional (boring?) DJ rig.
