The latest addition to the list of 90+ DEX 3 and DEX 3 RE supported DJ controllers is the ultra-compact and highly-affordable Numark DJ2GO2. Just like it’s predecessor the Numark DJ2Go it’s small enough to fit in a large pocket (or Christmas stocking!) and ideal for a breakout house party or small event.
The Numark DJ2GO2 Pocket DJ Controller has one major and surprising improvement over the previous model, especially for a controller that only costs $79 on most DJ equipment retailer websites, and that’s the built in Audio Interface. This makes headphone pre-fade listening (using WASAPI in Windows and Core Audio on MAC) easy without the need for an additional USB audio interface.
The Numark DJ2GO2 is sized to fit directly in front of most laptops (about the same width of a 15″ laptop keyboard) and provides full 2-deck control over DEX 3 or DEX 3 RE. It takes only a few seconds to setup the DJ2GO2 as it doesn’t require driver installation or additional hardware. Simply connect the USB cable between your computer and the controller, connect a pair of headphones and you’re ready to play.
The Numark DJ2GO2 layout features tactile hands-on controls which are all supported in DEX 3 and DEX 3 RE mixing software. The DJ2Go2 include two platters, a crossfader (which lends itself well to both audio and in the case of DEX 3 (pro edition), blending between music videos), pitch and level controls, as well as Deck A, Deck B, Master and Headphone gain controls. In addition, you can load and assign tracks to either of the two included deck control sections without ever touching your computer, which wasn’t available on first version of the DJ2Go.
DJ2GO2 fits on top of your laptop and is well suited for small gigs, pop-ups, track preparation, and also serves as a great back up for those “just in case” moments.
Bottom line, the Numark DJGO2 is a quality upgrade from the previous model and it now pairs perfectly with DEX 3 or DEX 3 RE for those on-the-go DJ requirements!
